Red Hat creates global services center in India
Red Hat has set up a global services centre in India that will assist its customers with deploying open-source technologies. The centre will hire about 100 staff over the next 12 months.
The company plans to use a hybrid model for service delivery. Besides its own in-house staff at the services centre, the company will also work with Indian outsourcing companies to deliver services to its customers, Red Hat said Thursday.
India is a pioneer and leader in the global services delivery model and the Indian development community is widely recognized for its expertise and its contribution to open-source development, the company added.
Red Hat already has a tie-up in this connection with Satyam Computer Services, an outsourcer in Hyderabad.
Red Hat already offers support around its products from a centre in Pune, which was set up in 2005.
