Vodafone has a new twist on digital photo frames.

This device has a cellular data modem built into the back and is always connected to the network so your friends and family can send new pictures by MMS or e-mail. There are no subscription costs for the service. Users pay 150 euros for the frame and that covers networking costs.

However people sending images to the frame from a cell phone will have to pay standard data rates. Pictures can be e-mailed from a PC at no cost so then neither party incurs additional charges.

The Vodafone 520 frame has 100 megabytes of internal memory and can accept SD and MMC memory cards. The 7-inch screen has a resolution of 800 by 480 pixels.

Right now it's only available in the Netherlands.

At Cebit 2008 this is Martyn Williams, IDG News Service.
