Red Hat opens new engineering and support HQ in Brisbane
Red Hat opened its new Asia Pacific engineering and support headquarters in Brisbane on Tuesday.
The new headquarters is the company's largest engineering centre in the Asia-Pacific region. It was formally opened by Desley Boyle, Queensland's minister for Tourism, Regional Development and Industry.
The impetus for the new centre is the expansion of Red Hat's regional engineering and support business.
The centre will replace the company's existing Asia-Pacific engineering and support headquarters, which was also in Brisbane. Brisbane was chosen because of extensive state Government support, including Government grants, and the high calibre of local engineering talent.
The centre is responsible for duties such as software research and development, product engineering, and multi-lingual translation.
