Wyse ships Linux clients
Terminal vendor Wyse Technology has enriched its server-centric computing strategy by unveiling the Winterm 5000 series of Linux-based thin clients.
The two models announced -- the 5125 and the 5455, priced at US$349 and US$449, respectively -- run Version 3.2 of Wyse's custom Linux distribution, based on kernel 2.4.19. Both units support VPN connectivity to servers and management with Wyse's Rapport 4.0 software package. The 5455 also bundles a Mozilla browser.
