Ingres ramps up local operations to meet demand

Open source database company, Ingres Corporation, has announced four new appointments to its local team increasing its headcount to 32 staff spread across offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Auckland.

Ingres A/NZ vice president, Stuart Pike, said the company's rapid expansion forced it to ramp up the team to meet customer demands.

Pike said Ingres had an active customer base of 600 in A/NZ.

The new appointments include Murray Armfield who has been appointed system engineer as well as two new partners including Ian Murray.

Prior to joining Ingres, Murray held senior roles at Informix and IBM.

Another partner is Jason Venkataya who will work to maximise partnerships. Venkataya was previously with Hewlett Packard for seven years.

Ken Lindner has joined the professional services team as a consultant.

Lindner spent 16 years at EDS where he held various roles in system operations and application development and is an Ingres product expert.
