Among the art projects and games at the Last HOPE were two young hackers who are developing an encrypted Bit Torrent program.

Anomos is similar to the multi peer to peer file distribution network Bit Torrent only the difference is that the files transfer are encrypted and run through an ad hoc...network which obstructs traffic from being observed by clients who want to spy on your transfers.
While Rich and his co-developer intend for the software to be used legally, they have a feeling that illegal transfers of movies music and videos may happen too.

It's not really what I want the purpose of it to be. I'd really like to see people use this for political purposes. Distributing things, like Rich was saying, on Wikileaks. It'd be a great way for people to use it. I mean it could be used for illegal file sharing and it probably will be, but I think anonymity and freedom on the internet should really be things that we're striving for because we're seeing a big crackdown on a lot of activities that are, where the punishment is not really meeting the crime.
