Brazilian police dubbed their crackdown "Operation Persona," which led to raids and temporary arrests this week of 41 members of an organization that allegedly evaded federal taxes when importing Cisco Systems networking gear.

Jimmy Wales, founder of the Wikipedia user-generated and edited encyclopaedia, said he expects contributors to the site who claim certain credentials will soon have to prove they really have them.

Brian Stevens, formerly Red Hat's vice president of operating system, storage and clustering development, has been named the Linux company's CTO and is leading its newly formed Emerging Technologies Group.
