On its way around Australia, Installfest 2000 stopped off in Sydney on Saturday August 26. The event was quite a success with over 100 people turning out. LinuxWorld.com.au was also there to lend a hand with a beginner's guide and presentation. Although organisers were happy with the way things have gone, they feel that a national installfest day will give Linux more widespread public exposure.

Installfest 2000 has been a success so far, however, it still has three more cities to go. Sydney, Melbourne and Perth all have their big days within a month's time. Furthermore, planning has not stopped for future years, with the idea of having a national installfest day being considered amongst organisers.
